Auto glass often become damaged as a result of car accidents and needs to be replaced as a result. In addition, other environmental circumstances can contribute to auto glass damage including constant car vibrations, gravel kick ups, or harsh weather conditions. While it might be fairly easy to replace auto glass, it is best left to a specialist to do the work.
There are two types of auto glass: tempered glass and laminated safety glass. Tempered glass is used on the rear and side windows while laminated safety glass is used on windshields. Both types of glass are stronger and more resistant than standard glass. Tempered glass will shatter into small pieces but does not have sharp edges. Laminated glass, on the other hand, shatters but does not fall to the ground as it sticks to the vinyl.
If your auto glass is damaged, call a local specialist and they will provide an inspection and quote.
