Dallas Area Bus Accident Injures Eleven Peopleby Peter Nero, January 5th, 2011
A Fort Worth bus accident sent eleven people to area hospitals. Fort Worth Transportation and Fort Worth Police Department are investigated the incident. The accident occurred on Tuesday night, January 4, 2011, around 7:20 p.m. at East Lancaster Avenue and Calhoun Street. The Fort Worth city bus, known as the "T" was traveling legally through a green light when it was unexpectedly struck by a Nissan. Although the driver of the Nissan and ten of the 28 passengers on the Fort Worth bus were taken to the hospital for examination, none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening. Another Forth Worth bus was called to the scene, and approximately 45 minutes after the crash, the remaining 18 bus passengers continued to their intended destinations. Authorities will continue to investigate this Dallas accident, as it is not yet known what caused the driver of the Nissan to slam into the bus. It is known that the bus was traveling through the green light, following all traffic rules and safety standards when the crash occurred. Personal injuries can happen in a moment when vehicles are driving in an unsafe manner, yet strict regulations - as well as the sheer size of the bus - make public transportation a generally safe mode of travel. It is hoped that those injured in this unfortunate Dallas bus crash will have full recoveries and that their personal injuries will be minor. It is advised that the victims seek legal advice from an experienced Dallas personal injury lawyer to determine if their situation may lead to personal injury compensation.
