Los Angeles Family Sues Plastic Surgeon for Wrongful Deathby Peter Nero, January 4th, 2011
A victim's family and their Los Angeles personal injury attorney sued Dr. Mohamed for wrongful death. Sharon Carpenter Nicholson, 61, who died on the operating table of Encino doctor, Dr. Ehab Mohamed, where she was undergoing liposuction. The hearing is scheduled for next month and the Medical Board of California has ordered Dr. Mohamed to cease performing plastic surgeries while he is additionally being investigated for negligence in two other cases. Mohamed's website appears to substantially misrepresent the good doctor's credentials; while he is allegedly only approved to practice gynecology, he claims to have "invented" a long litany of micro-invasive procedures. Mohamed also allegedly told patients he was a Harvard professor and promised one patient a substantial discount on a cosmetic procedure for taking part in a Harvard-affiliated study. California's Medical Board has yet to find evidence that the doctor has any affiliation with Harvard or that there is such a study in the works.
