1 p.m.: Woman convicted in animal cruelty case

BROOKFIELD - A plea agreement was reached this morning for a woman accused of animal cruelty involving more than 100 animals taken from her property last month. Kathy Witzman, 58, of Gustavus, pleaded no contest before Eastern District Court Judge Ron Rice to a second degree misdeameanor charge of cruelty to animals and was fined.
