Illinois woman sues pizza deliveryman after crashby Wanda Derllump, August 17th, 2011 A woman has filed a complaint in Edwardsville, Illinois, alleging that a former pizza deliveryman caused an accident that brought injury to another driver after failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, the Telegraph reports. According to the news source, Andrea Mundy filed the suit in Madison County Circuit Court against 21-year-old Kenneth Lyerla, claiming that Lyerla was at fault for the head-on collision that caused her to suffer various severe injuries all over her body. Mundy alleges that Lylera was distracted while driving because he was talking on his cell phone while listening to the radio when the accident occurred. Several others have been named as defendants in the complaint, including Tresorella's Inc., Imo's Franchising and many others, the media outlet stated. Mundy hired a car accident lawyer after Lylera was issued a violation after the crash that resulted in a $75 fine. The lawsuit states that the plaintiff has incurred medical bills, will lose wages in the future and suffered physical disability and mental anguish as a result of the crash. According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, there were 858 crashes in the state in 2010, resulting in 88,937 injuries.
