Maine tanker truck crash injures twoby Graham Allchurch, September 1st, 2011 On Friday, August 26, a large tanker truck allegedly crashed into a vehicle after swerving to avoid another car on Route 202 at the intersection of Spruce Street and the Colonial Mobile Home Park in Lebanon, Maine, the Sanford News reports. Assistant Chief Cole of the Lebanon Fire and Rescue stated that upon arrival, the tanker was found on its side off the road, while a Chevrolet Malibu was in a separate ditch. It is believed that the Malibu was pulling out of Spruce Street onto Route 202 when it allegedly smashed into the truck. "The driver of the tractor trailer attempted to avoid the collision and skidded sideways until it rolled over in the ditch," Cole stated in a release. Both drivers were rushed to Goodall Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, although both vehicles were totaled in the accident. This is the second large truck accident in Maine in recent weeks, with another crash occurring in Cambridge, when a tractor trailer allegedly smashed into a general store, according to the Bangor Daily News. Those who have been injured in an accident involving a tractor trailer may want to contact a truck accident attorney to see what legal action can be taken.
