
Motorcycle accident kills Pennsylvania man in church park lotby Wanda Derllump, November 7th, 2011 A 20-year-old man from Walnutport, Pennsylvania, was killed on Saturday, November 5, after allegedly losing control of his motorcycle and crashing into a another vehicle in the parking lot outside the Northampton Assembly of God in Allen Township. Police officials told Lehigh Valley Live that the victim was identified as Brandon L. Gonzalez. The accident occurred around 6 p.m. when Gonzalez was reportedly traveling east out of the church parking lot at 3449 Cherryville Road. The rider allegedly lost control of his 2004 Yamaha R1 and slid into a Ford Mustang driven by David J. Ritter. According to the news source, a police investigation found that Gonzalez was likely traveling too fast for conditions, and was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Ritter, who was wearing his seat belt and was not found to have broken any laws, was not injured nor cited by police. In 2010, there were 223 fatalities related to motorcycle accidents in Pennsylvania, with an additional 3,930 injuries, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
