New York Family sues Nassau County after car crashby Elizabeth Porter, July 27th, 2011 The parents of 17-year-old Isabella Grasso announced on Tuesday, July 26, that they plan to hire a car accident attorney and sue Nassau County over the death of their daughter, claiming that first responders failed to save her life after a car crash that happened in January, the Long Island Press reports. According to the news source, Linda and Michael Grasso say they have questions that have gone unanswered by authorities since the crash, such as why their daughter was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, rather than the many other hospitals that are located near the scene of the crash on Old Tappan Road in Lattingtown. "We have millions of questions and zero in the way of answers at this moment. We want answers," Michael Grasso told the media outlet. "I just want the answers to what happened." The Grassos allege that emergency medical responders were not efficient in their response in ordering a helicopter that was diverted to a local high school, landed, and waited 45 minutes before continuing to a hospital. Helicopter rescue has been the target of lawsuits before, and has even led New Jersey officials to question eliminating the medical chopper fleet altogether, according to My Central Jersey.
