One fatality, eight injuries in Toledo auto accident

In Toledo, Ohio, 69-year-old Ronald Carpenter allegedly caused a five-car accident, injuring eight people and possibly costing him his own life, The Toledo Blade reports.

An autopsy will be conducted to find out if Carpenter's death was a result of injuries from the accident or a heart attack.

"I know he's in heaven, and I know he's safe," Sharon Carpenter, wife of Ronald for 34 years, told the news source.

A witness at the scene told the news source that he watched the accident unfold. According to Steve Morgan, Carpenter looked as if he was passed out at the wheel. Carpenter's van started to pick up speed and ran into the rear of a Ford Econoline that was stopped at a red light, the news source explains.

In 2010, there were a total of 300,164 crashes in Ohio, 984 of which involved a fatality. In major accidents, a victim of a car accident should immediately consult with an auto accident lawyer so they can get properly restore their lives from any mental or physical pain they've endured.
