Teenage driver faces $500,000 lawsuit following fatal accident

Financial compensation can never repair the damages incurred from a fatal crash. However, it may be beneficial to seek legal counsel whether you are the victims' family or defendant.

A 17-year-old student from Wirtz, Virgina is facing a $500,000 lawsuit for reckless driving, The Roanoke Times reports.

According to the suit, Marina Snyder was driving with three friends in a 2000 Mercury Cougar and struck an oncoming 2008 Toyota Scion and a 2004 Dodge Dakota. Zach Parsons, who was in the front seat of Snyder's vehicle, was killed and three others involved in the accident were injured.

The lawsuit, filed on behalf of accident victim Jonathan Hall,  states that Snyder operated the vehicle negligently and drove 35 mph faster than the speed limit.

"It was certainly a preventable accident and should have never happened," Will Davis, representing attorney for Hall, stated in the lawsuit.

According to the Virginia Highway Safety Office, 740 people were killed from auto accidents during 2010, a 2.12 percent decline from 2009.

In critical crashes, the legal process is best handled by auto accident lawyers.
