Texas bicyclist hit by Ford Mustang escapes with only minor injuries

When a Texas bicycle rider was allegedly hit by a motorist in Lubbock, the man suffered only minor injuries in an accident which could have taken his life, the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports.

According to the news source, the Texas Tech senior was able to ride away from the accident that occurred on the morning of Wednesday, November 2, after he was allegedly hit by a Ford Mustang.

Ryan Duncan claims he was riding across the intersection of 19th street and University Avenue when he was struck by the gray Mustang. After falling from his bike, Duncan lifted his pant leg to find a badly bloodied knee and cuts extending down his leg. The student was then reportedly able to climb back on his bicycle and ride away, the media outlet stated.

However, later that day, Duncan checked himself into the University Medical Center to have his injuries looked at by a doctor.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 51,000 bicyclists were injured in 2009 in crashes with motor vehicles.

Those who have been injured in a bicycle accident with another vehicle may want to contact a bicycle accident lawyer to see what legal action can be taken.
