Two bars sued after fatal Indiana motorcycle crashby Graham Allchurch, September 8th, 2011 A civil lawsuit has been filed following a 2009 fatal motorcycle crash in Porter Township, Indiana, in which two of the original four bars named as defendants in the case are still allegedly to blame, according to the Northwest Indiana Times. The news source reports that Porter Superior Judge Bill Alexa decided that not enough evidence had been presented to keep Buddy and Pals Place or Drena's Bar and Grill in the lawsuit. Two bars still remain in the complaint. According to the lawsuit filed by Nathan Krinkel and his motorcycle accident lawyer, 42-year-old Laura Walker was killed May 3, 2009, after the motorcycle she was riding on crashed at the corner of County Road 350 West and Porter-Lake County Line Road. The complaint alleges that Eugene Raber consumed alcohol at the bars and then proceeded to drive drunk with Walker as a passenger, although a settlement was reached with Raber outside of court. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there were 1,314 impaired driving accidents involving motorcycles across the country in 2009.
