Diving Accidents Resource Center

Diving AccidentsDiving Accidents can happen to recreational and commercial divers and are often caused by dive operator negligence or defective equipment.  Decompression sickness, air embolisms, and nitrogen narcosis are health conditions that can result from Diving Accidents. These are all serious illnesses, with effects including joint pain, skin problems, paralysis, blindness, brain damage and, in the most serious cases, death. Commercial divers can be injured while doing underwater repairs to boats, barges, docks, or piers. They may qualify for seaman status under the Jones Act and be eligible for certain benefits and claims. Recreational divers may have personal injury claims against the diving instructor, vacation resort, or cruise ship operator.
